Chief Minister Nitish Kumar Inaugurates New Section of JP Gangapath in Patna
Chief Minister Shri Nitish Kumar inaugurated the section of JP Gangapath from Gaighat (12.1 km) to Kanganghat (15.5 km) by cutting the ribbon and flying a balloon. After the inauguration, the Chief Minister inspected the road built from Gaighat to Kanganghat.
In the program organized at Patna Ghat, Additional Chief Secretary of Road Construction Department, Shri Pratyaya Amrit informed the Chief Minister about the progress of the remaining works of JP Ganga Path Project through the presentation of a documentary prepared by drone. Also, the updated status of the work progress of Kacchi Dargah to Bidupur 6 lane road project was given. He told that there is a plan to connect the JP Ganga Path Project from Bakhtiyarpur to Maekama in the east direction to Rajendra Pul.
Also, there is a plan to extend it to Sherpur in Bhojpur district in the west direction. The Chief Minister said that the foundation stone of the JP Ganga Path Project was laid on 11 October 2013. The path of the JP Ganga Path Project was inaugurated on 24 June 2022.
He said that the construction of JP Ganga Path has facilitated movement between the eastern and western parts of Patna and due to uninterrupted connectivity between the main hospitals of Patna city - PMCH, NMCH and AIIMS, the common people are getting great convenience in getting medical facilities. Due to the connectivity of JP Ganga Path with JP Bridge in Digha and Mahatma Gandhi Bridge near Biskaman Golambar in Gai Ghat, movement between North Bihar and South Bihar has become even easier.
The Chief Minister said that the work of JP Ganga Path project from Digha to Kangan Ghat has been completed. The work remaining till Didarganj should be completed soon. The Chief Minister directed the representative of the construction company L&T to complete the remaining work of JP Ganga Path as soon as possible. The representative of L&T assured the Chief Minister that the remaining work of one and a half km from Kangan Ghat to Didarganj would be completed by October 2024 and the work of Kacchi Dargah to Bidupur Path Project would be completed by the end of this year.
It is noteworthy that after the inauguration of JP Ganga Path Project up to Kangan Ghat, commuting to Takht Shri Harimandir Sahib Gurudwara, the birthplace of Shri Guru Govind Singh Ji Maharaj, will become very easy. Also, a lot of time will be saved in commuting from Kangan Ghat to Gurudwara Handi Sahib located in Danapur. After the transfer of railway land between Patna Ghat and Patna Sahib, the project will have direct connection from Digha to Patna Sahib Railway Station, which will further increase the utility of this path.
On this occasion, Deputy Chief Minister cum Road Construction Minister Shri Vijay Kumar Sinha welcomed the Chief Minister by presenting a flower bouquet.
On this occasion, Deputy Chief Minister Mr. Samrat Chaudhary, Deputy Chief Minister-cum-Road Construction Minister Mr. Vijay Kumar Sinha, Bihar Assembly Speaker Mr. Nand Kishor Yadav, Patna Sahib Lok Sabha constituency MP Mr. Ravi Shankar Prasad, Chief Secretary to the Chief Minister Mr. Deepak Kumar, Additional Chief Secretary of Road Construction Department Mr. Pratyaya Amrit, Principal Secretary of Urban Development and Housing Department Mr. Anand Kishor, Secretary to the Chief Minister Mr. Anupam Kumar, Commissioner of Patna Division Mr. Kumar Ravi, Secretary of Road Construction Department Mr. Sandeep Kumar R. Pudkalkatti, District Magistrate Dr. Chandrashekhar Singh, Managing Director of Bihar State Road Development Corporation Limited Mr. Shirshat Kapil Ashok, Senior Superintendent of Police Mr. Rajiv Mishra along with engineers and senior officers of Road Construction Department were also present.
Talking to journalists after the program, the Chief Minister said that after the construction of JP Gangapath, the people of North Bihar are no longer facing any problem in coming to Patna or anywhere else, transportation has become convenient. It will be very convenient to come here from different areas of North Bihar. Apart from this, good roads are being built everywhere in the state. Regarding the delay in construction of roads at some places, I have asked the officials to complete the work of road construction as soon as possible. Construction of good roads provides great convenience to the people in commuting and also saves time.
