Chief Minister Nitish Kumar Inaugurates Bihar Sports University and State Sports Academy
Chief Minister Shri Nitish Kumar today reached Rajgir Sports Complex of Nalanda district and inaugurated the State Sports Academy and Bihar Sports University by cutting the ribbon and unveiling the plaque.
On this occasion, in a program organized in the auditorium, the Chief Minister honored 9 international medal winners of the state in the field of sports. On the occasion of National Sports Day, medal winners / participating players / coaches in Olympic Games, Asian Games, Senior Asian Championship were honored. Under this, Arjun Award winner Ms. Shreyasi Singh, who participated in Paris Olympics Shooting 2024 and won gold medal in Asian Games 2022. Also, Mr. Akash Kumar, who participated in Asian Games, 2022 fencing, Mr. Sudhanshu Shekhar, who participated in Asian Games - 2022 sailing, Ms. Sweta Shahi, who participated in Asian Games, 2022 rugby, Md. Shams Alam Sheikh, who participated in Asian Games - 2022 Para Swimming, Mr. Chandan Kumar Singh, gold medalist in Senior Asian Championship - 2024 lawn balls and Md. Jalaluddin Ansari, who participated in Senior Asian Championship - 2024 Para Cycling were honored. In the instructor category, Wrestling Khel Vidya instructor, who was awarded the Dronacharya Award in Asian Games - 2023, Mr. Shashi Bhushan Prasad was honored with a cash prize and a citation.
In a program organized on the occasion of National Sports Day, the Chief Minister paid tribute to Hockey Magician Padma Bhushan Major Dhyan Chand by offering flowers to his picture. Principal Secretary of Sports Department Dr. B. Rajender honored the Chief Minister by presenting a green plant and Secretary of Building Construction Department Mr. Kumar Ravi honored the Chief Minister by presenting a memento.
Ms. Shreyasi Singh, who participated in the Paris Olympics, welcomed the Chief Minister by presenting him a jersey. The hockey team also honored the Chief Minister by presenting a jersey. The Chief Minister honored the women players of the Indian hockey team participating in the 19th Asian Games and the coach of the women's hockey team Mr. Harendra Singh, a resident of Chhapra.
A short film related to the construction of Rajgir Sports Complex by the Building Construction Department and the work done by the Sports Department for the development of sports in Bihar was presented to the Chief Minister. The Chief Minister inspected the main administrative building located in the Rajgir Sports Complex and took information about the facilities available there.
After this, the Chief Minister inaugurated the match organized at the newly constructed Astroturf Hockey Ground in the Rajgir Sports Complex and met the players.
The Chief Minister inspected the swimming pool. After this, the Chief Minister also inspected the International Cricket Stadium under construction and directed to complete the work expeditiously.
Earlier, the Chief Minister inspected the Jarasandh Memorial under construction and directed to complete the construction work soon. The Chief Minister also inspected the museum under construction there. While inspecting, the Chief Minister said that whatever exhibition will be held here, give information about it in Hindi at the top and in English below so that people can be well aware of the exhibits.
He said that this is a historical place and after its development, more number of people will come to see it. The Chief Minister also inspected the park and pond being constructed there. He said that from the point of view of security, railing should be constructed so that people remain safe.
After this, the Chief Minister inspected the integrated building under construction near the rope-way (swing) and inquired about the arrangements there. He directed to complete the construction work quickly.
