Along with the election dates, Rajiv Kumar also openly responded to the allegations on the Electronic Voting Machine (EVM).
With the announcement of the Delhi elections, the Chief Election Commissioner responded to an allegation by the world's richest businessman and owner of Tesla and SpaceX, Elon Musk. Musk claimed that the EVMs could be hacked. After this allegation, there was a strong reaction across India. The country's Chief Election Commissioner, Rajiv Kumar, made important remarks regarding this allegation.
Can EVMs be hacked?
The Chief Election Commissioner said that there is no truth in the talk of tampering with EVMs. The Supreme Court has also said that EVM machines cannot be hacked. Even after this, an attempt was made to doubt the EVM. EVMs are ready a week before the elections. The EVM machine is sealed in front of the polling agents. The EVM is sealed after the voting is over. The EVM process is completely transparent.
Apart from this, Rajiv Kumar said that EVM is a foolproof device. No kind of virus can enter EVM. Transparency in elections is our priority. There is no possibility of illegal voting in EVM.
