Buddha Samyak Darshan Museum-cum-Smriti Stupa Nears Completion in Vaishali

Secretary of Building Construction Department, Bihar, Mr. Kumar Ravi inspected the work site of the Buddha Samyak Darshan Museum-cum-Smriti Stupa under construction in Vaishali today on Thursday. During the inspection, the Secretary visited the museum premises and took information about everything and gave necessary instructions regarding the works going on in the final stage. On this occasion, Secretary of Art, Culture and Youth Department, Mr. Pranav Kumar, Director of Museum Directorate, Mrs. Rachna Patil, District Magistrate of Vaishali, Mr. Yashpal Meena, Secretary of Bodhgaya Temple Managing Committee Dr. Mahashweta Maharathi and senior officials of the Building Construction Department along with other officials were present.
During the inspection, the Secretary took stock of the finishing work going on in the stupa and directed the working agency to complete the work expeditiously. He said that after the completion of the finishing work, the stupa will look grand and attractive. Instructions were also given to expedite the work of exhibit installation in Museum-1 and 2. During the tour of the campus, he directed to get small works done at many places in the Buddha Samyak Darshan Museum-cum-Smriti Stupa campus, so that the campus can look more beautiful and attractive.
Meanwhile, a discussion was held about connecting the museum campus to the Mud Stupa. For this, the Secretary also directed the District Magistrate of Vaishali to have necessary discussions with the team of the Archaeological Survey Department. He said that after the completion of the Buddha Samyak Darshan Museum-cum-Smriti Stupa, a new center of tourism will develop in Vaishali.
After this, the Secretary also discussed about the drainage system in the campus, installation of signage boards, library, meditation hall, guest house, open air theater, canteen, electric vehicles for visitors to roam in the campus, inauguration of Smriti Stupa and necessary preparations related to it. He said that the Buddha Samyak Darshan Museum-cum-Smriti Stupa will be inaugurated soon. Apart from this, the officials were also directed regarding the maintenance of the stupa complex etc.
The construction of Buddha Samyak Darshan Museum-cum-Smriti Stupa has been completed on a plot of 72.94 acres at a cost of ₹550.48 crore in Vaishali. At present, the finishing and cleaning work is going on at a fast pace. The work of the statue is being done by artists from Odisha. Pink stones were brought from Rajasthan to make the stupa grand and attractive. 38500 stones have been installed in it. This structure is completely made of stones and cement or any adhesive or other things have not been used to install the stones. In the coming time, the grand architecture of the stupa will make its unique identity on the world stage. Tourists coming here will be able to see the unique depiction of the life philosophy of Lord Buddha and the souvenirs.
The stupa was constructed on a plot of about 4300 square meters of the complex. The total height of the stupa is 33 meters, the internal diameter is 38 meters and the external diameter is 50 meters. A huge hall has been constructed on the ground floor of the stupa for 2000 devotees to sit and meditate. Exhibits and artifacts related to Lord Buddha have been installed in the museum to keep the memories related to Lord Buddha.
A lot of work has also been done in the stupa complex from the environmental point of view. To make the complex look beautiful, greenery has been developed by planting trees on a large scale. The total greenery area is about 271689 square meters. Solar power plants have been installed for power supply through solar energy. Along with this, sewerage treatment plant and water treatment plant have also been installed. To increase the beauty of the complex, some necessary construction is being done in other water structures on the banks of the pond. Small works are being done at many places in the Buddha Samyak Darshan Museum cum Smriti Stupa complex, so that the complex can look more beautiful and charming.
Lord Buddha's bone urn has been found in Vaishali, which will be installed in the Buddha Smriti Stupa. Events related to the life of Mahatma Buddha and incidents related to Buddhism have been depicted in the museum. In the coming time, this museum will show the cultural heritage and grandeur of Bihar. After the completion of this construction work, a large number of tourists from India and abroad will come here along with the Buddhists. This will become a major center of faith and attraction for the Buddhists. This will also increase employment opportunities.
