British High Commissioner and Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar Discuss Development Projects

British High Commissioner to India, Mr. Vikram Doraiswami, held a cordial meeting with Chief Minister Nitish Kumar during his visit to Britain. The meeting, delved into extensive discussions regarding the ongoing construction of the Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam Science City. Chief Minister Kumar expressed his vision to transform the under-construction science city in Patna into a globally renowned hub of scientific excellence, aiming to showcase India's achievements in the field of science, particularly highlighting Bihar's illustrious and rich historical background as the sacred land of Patliputra.

After touring the Science Museum, the Chief Minister shared his experiences, emphasizing the ancient glory of Bihar in astronomical calculations and mathematical analysis. Praising Bihar's contribution to global knowledge in these domains, the Indian High Commissioner underscored how the upcoming Science City in Bihar would facilitate direct encounters with its illustrious past for visitors and scholars alike.

Assuring full cooperation in the construction of the Science City, the Indian High Commissioner expressed confidence in the Chief Minister's commitment to the project. During his tour of Scotland, the Chief Minister also explored innovative developments in water resource management, given Bihar's abundance of natural water resources and its significance in agricultural practices. Discussions revolved around efficient water usage and conservation methods, with a focus on implementing new water management techniques in Bihar.

Commending the Chief Minister's Jal-Jeevan-Hariyali initiative, the British High Commissioner highlighted the significance of better water resource management for Bihar's progress. He assured the Chief Minister of Britain's unwavering support in establishing an iconic and world-class Science City in Bihar, intending to elevate Bihar's contributions in the field of science to international recognition.

Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam Science City's project consultant, former minister and Rajya Sabha MP, Mr. Sanjay Kumar Jha, also attended the event, pledging mutual cooperation for collaborative efforts.
