Bihar's Tableau to be the Center of Attraction at Kartavya Path

Bihar, a land steeped in ancient wisdom, spirituality, and peace, is all set to mesmerize the nation with its vibrant tableau at this year's Republic Day parade. The state's meticulously crafted float will proudly showcase the iconic Nalanda University, the majestic statue of Lord Buddha at Rajgir's Ghora Katora Lake, and the ruins of the ancient Nalanda Mahavihara.

The tableau's centerpiece, the Bodhi tree, symbolizes the spread of enlightenment from this sacred land. The float will also highlight the state's efforts to preserve its ancient legacy, re-establish Bihar as a global center of learning, and promote eco-tourism around the colossal statue of Lord Buddha.

The 70-foot tall monolithic statue of Lord Buddha, installed in 2018, is a testament to the state's efforts to develop the lake as an eco-tourism destination. The tableau will also feature murals depicting Bihar's rich history and culture, emphasizing the state's ancient heritage.

The newly established International Nalanda University, inaugurated by the Prime Minister of India in the presence of the Chief Minister of Bihar, is a modern marvel inspired by the ancient architecture of Nalanda. The university's design incorporates elements like the Sariputra Stupa, Gopuram gateway, and traditional verandahs, making it a carbon-neutral and net-zero campus.

Bihar's tableau is one of the 15 tableaux selected from various states and union territories to be showcased at the Republic Day parade, with the theme "Swarnim Bharat: Virasat aur Vikas" (Golden India: Heritage and Development) ¹. The parade will take place on Kartavya Path, featuring creative exhibits from various states, union territories, and central ministries, aimed at highlighting India's diversity and cultural roots.
