Bihar's NH-327E to be Upgraded with ₹1,979.51 Crore Project

Taking another important step towards the upgradation of National Highways in Bihar, the Central Government has approved the upgradation of the Parsarma-Araria section of NH-327E. Under the project, the 111.82 km long Parsarma-Araria section of NH-327E will be developed as a two-lane paved shoulder.

Giving information about the project, Hon'ble Road Construction Minister, Shri Nitin Naveen said that "The upgradation of NH-327E will reduce the pressure of heavy traffic in the area, diverting heavy vehicles from densely populated areas and ensuring smooth traffic. The said project has been prepared keeping in mind the future traffic needs and planned urban development." The Hon'ble Minister also expressed his gratitude to the Central Government for the approval of this project.

The Hon'ble Minister informed that the total cost of construction of the said project has been fixed at ₹ 1,979.51 crore. Under this, 24.60 km bypass, 12.18 km realignment and 75.04 km road widening and improvement work will be done. Under the project, the right of way (ROW) of 24 meters, 30 meters, 32.5 meters and 45 meters has been fixed according to different areas. It is known that at present the right of way (ROW) of the said highway is 15-30 meters.

The design speed of the road of the said project will be 80 to 100 kilometers per hour, which will give passengers a fast and smooth travel experience. Apart from this, construction of 2 flyovers, 2 VUP (underpasses) and 2 railway over bridges (ROB) is also proposed under the project.

Hon'ble Road Construction Minister said "After completion of the project, the traffic pressure in densely populated areas like Supaul, Pipra, Triveniganj and Raniganj will be reduced and heavy vehicles can be diverted through the bypass. This will benefit the local citizens by providing safe and hassle-free travel. Bypass construction and road widening will also reduce traffic jams and air pollution in urban areas.
