What is a Smart village?
Smart Village is a concept adopted by the national, state and local governments of India, an initiative focused on holistic rural development, derived from Mahatma Gandhi's vision of the ideal village and swaraj (self-reliance). Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched the Sansad Adarsh Gram Yojana (SAGY or Saanjhi) on Gandhi Jayanti on 2 October 2014, besides Smart Cities and Digital India as a development program for India.
