Bihar to Fill Nearly 50,000 Government Vacancies Across 10 Departments

The process of filling about 49 thousand 591 vacant posts in about 10 departments of the state is going to start soon. Regarding this, Chief Secretary Amrit Lal Meena held a review meeting with the nodal officers of the concerned departments in the auditorium of the Chief Secretariat on Monday. Through the presentation given at the department level, it came to light that there are 49 thousand 591 vacancies of different posts in 10 departments, Food and Consumer Protection Department, Panchayati Raj, Rural Development, Water Resources, Agriculture, Minor Water Resources, Animal and Fisheries Resources, Cooperation, Environment, Forest and Climate Change and Sugarcane Industry Departments. The Chief Secretary directed to complete the process related to filling them soon. The vacancies to fill 14 thousand 968 posts of these departments have been sent to the concerned commissions. It is being restored in the departments under Saat Nishchay-2.
The Chief Secretary directed all the departments to audit the energy consumption. So that unnecessary consumption of energy can be reduced. For this, all departments have been asked to pay special attention to this. To reduce energy consumption in all government buildings and offices, it has been asked to increase the use of LED. Its use will reduce energy consumption by 80 percent as compared to normal bulbs. Apart from this, it has been asked to use heating and cooling machines effectively. It has also been asked to take initiative to reduce excessive consumption of all electricity by conducting energy audit in government schools and hospitals.
Chief Secretary Shri Amrit Lal Meena gave strict instructions to all departments to take strict action against guilty or poorly performing officers. Identify such officials and take immediate departmental action, so that there is fear in them and no leniency can be shown in taking action against the wrongdoing officials.
He directed the General Administration Department to prepare an SOP (Standard Operating Manual) to take concrete action in the case of viral videos of officials. Shri Meena also directed the departments to spend the entire amount allocated under the Central Plan head.
The Chief Secretary asked all the departments to settle the pending cases soon. He asked to take steps in a focused manner to find out the reason behind pending cases and to settle them.
