Bihar SC/ST Welfare Department Reviews Progress of Schemes for Social Upliftment
A departmental review meeting was held in the conference hall of the Directorate of Economics and Statistics, Patna, under the chairmanship of Shri Janak Ram, Hon'ble Minister, Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe Welfare Department, Bihar, with all the Regional Deputy Directors of the State, all District Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe Welfare Officers, District Coordinators (Vikas Mitra).
The main objective of the meeting was to review the progress of departmental schemes and ensure coordinated efforts to deliver the benefits of the schemes to the last person of the society.
Hon'ble Minister Shri Janak Ram, while addressing the meeting, directed the officers to ensure transparency and effectiveness in the implementation of the schemes. He said that the priority of the department is to uplift the Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe category and protect their rights.
In the meeting, departmental schemes such as residential schools, hostels, cases under Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act, 1989, Pre-Examination Training Center and schemes run by Bihar Mahadalit Vikas Mission were thoroughly reviewed.
While addressing the officers and the District Coordinators of Vikas Mitras, the Hon'ble Minister directed that 100% registration of the children of SC/ST communities whose birth certificates and Aadhaar registrations have not been done should be ensured.
The Hon'ble Minister especially emphasized the role of Vikas Mitras (District Coordinators) and said that they should play an active role in the implementation of schemes at the regional level and promptly solve the problems of the public.
On this occasion, Shri Divesh Sehra, Secretary, SC/ST Welfare Department, Shri Gautam Paswan, Additional Secretary, Shri Manoj Kumar Rajak, Personal Secretary to the Hon'ble Minister and other senior officers of the Department were present.
