Good upbringing of children is very important, only then will obscenity reduce: DGP Vinay Kumar
DGP Vinay Kumar, who was present as the chief guest in the program, said in his address that in the year 2007-08, the state government had started a cycle scheme to increase the participation of girls in schools, at that time children were also encouraged to go to school by the police stations, due to this cooperation of the police, the attendance in the school increased. During that time, the entire atmosphere of the rural environment changed as soon as the feeling of security came. After that, every year steps are being taken by the government for women. Currently, law and order is well maintained in Bihar. There is a Mahila Thana (women police station) working in every district of the state, this is not the case in any other state in the country. Here, women police stations are being led by women officers. Earlier, where women were afraid of going to the police station, now with the opening of Mahila Thana or the participation of women police personnel, they go fearlessly and register their complaints. DGP Vinay Kumar said that everyone will have to come together against the obscenity spread in the society. In programs like Tilak, dancing is being done on vulgar songs, this is done because the people of that area want to listen. If women come out of the house and talk about stopping such songs from being played, then everything will stop. Dance is happening on stage somewhere and someone is rubbing notes on the cheek of a woman, such incidents are not forgivable in any way. Women themselves should raise their voice against such acts. Now when the elders of the house will see dance, their children will become rapists, so the most important thing is to correct everyone's thinking. In recent days, I have received calls from many women saying that I have been called for dance or some program, but I am uncomfortable here, so I should be removed from here. The Director General of Police said that parenting has become an important factor in today's time. Children have mobile phones in their hands, but it is the guardian's job to keep an eye on them. 35 percent reservation is being given by the government. 27 thousand women police personnel are working and soon more will join them, after this no state near us will be seen in women participation. There is 50 percent reservation for women in Panchayati Raj, which is really a big thing for Bihar. Today there is a good number of women police personnel and officers in every district, which was not there till a few years ago. We are also getting better response on our Dial 112 and other helpline numbers. Last year, we have taken five hundred and fifty (550) crore rupees from the government only for Mahila Thana, so that Mahila Thana can be strengthened further. Incidents like assault and attack on police have increased, but this does not mean that the police should be afraid of working, we have to take steps towards reducing such incidents. Bihar is also at the top in terms of implementing the POCSO Act.
Bring your identity and success to the people, raise your voice against vulgar songs: Neetu Chandra
Special guest of the program, Bollywood actress Neetu Chandra, while encouraging the women police personnel present, said that when I can go to Hollywood after coming from a middle class family, then you can also do everything. Bihar Police should tell about its achievements, so that people also know the real Bihar. Girls all over the world are fighting just like we are fighting. The achievement of Bihar Police is trending, so many good things are happening, women police personnel should also post their success on their social media accounts, so that people can recognize women power. Neetu said that the weaker section of Bihar Police is doing a very good job, but its name should be strong section and not weak. On the obscenity spread due to Bhojpuri songs, the actress said that vulgar songs are defaming our society, when women listen to them, they bow their heads in shame. That is why we have filed a PIL against such vulgar songs, now DGP sir has taken a step forward and issued an order to ban it. There is a lot in Bihar, which can be heard and made heard. You all have to raise your voice against vulgar songs. From now on, neither will we watch such songs nor will we let others watch them, nor will we listen to them nor will we let others listen to them. Till the time we do not raise our voice against such songs and content, such songs will keep on being made. Do not pay attention to what people say or think about you. What is important is what you think about yourself.
Earlier, while addressing the gathering, Additional Director General of Police (Weaker Sections), CID, Amit Jain said that gender equality is very important in society. There is a perception among people that there are more crimes against women in Bihar, but if we look at the NCRB data, such cases are less here than in many states. Many good works are being done by the government and the police to prevent crime, CCTV cameras are being installed at various places. The Dial 112 team is constantly working for the safety of women. In view of the increasing incidence of cyber crime, police officers and employees are being trained. I believe that the law and enforcement agency has a scope of work, until people from every wing of the society come together for the safety of women, women cannot be completely safe. We need the support of all stakeholders, only then we can succeed in this. In her address, Home Department ADG/Special Secretary KS Anupam said that the government has made many acts, even POCSO has been made, but it does not matter to the criminals whether the girl in front of them is 5 years old or 15 years old. In the eyes of people with such petty mentality, the respect of society or women does not matter. However, the Bihar government has also done a lot for girls. Every girl should dream of flying, should try to fly. Most importantly, everyone should bring the idea of women empowerment to fruition from their home. Until you develop such thinking yourself or from your surroundings, it is impossible to build a good society.
Addressing the women police personnel, Special Branch DIG Harpreet Kaur said that in Bihar, along with the police, women's participation has increased in every field. For women empowerment, it is most important that they become financially independent, if they stand on their own feet, they will not have to bow down to anyone and for this education is very important. Unless you know and understand your rights, rules, laws and acts have no meaning. Unless you consider yourself strong, you will not become strong. Most important is to raise girls with the right mindset from childhood, make them realize the difference between right and wrong. Do not teach girls to tolerate oppression, tell them from childhood to raise their voice against crime. The home environment influences the mentality of children to a great extent. She told the women to make themselves so capable that your work speaks for itself, there is no need for you to speak. We talk a lot, but how much we think and do about women in our daily lives, is the true example of women empowerment. In the last phase of the program, the women police personnel present also asked questions to actress Neetu Chandra
