Bihar Pioneers Data-Driven Governance with AI Integration: NITI Aayog CEO Applauds Progress in Education and Health
The Government led by Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, Bihar has made unprecedented changes on basic issues like education and health. This was again proved by the statement of the country's NITI Aayog CEO BVR Subrahmanyam. He praised the state's continuous progress and reiterated the changes individually. During a press conference held in Gaya, where the National Conference on Data-Driven Governance will begin on Tuesday, Subrahmanyam said that many aspiring blocks and districts of Bihar will soon become "inspirational" due to better governance and service delivery.
Bihar is performing well in basic areas like education and health and will soon catch up with the rest of the country. This was said by NITI Aayog CEO BVR Subrahmanyam on Monday.
Subramaniam said, "Bihar will catch up with other parts of the country in a few years. The state is performing well in basic indicators like education and health. Many aspiring blocks and districts will soon become inspirational due to better governance and service delivery."
He also pointed out that Bihar is the first state in the country to have demonstrated an effective AI-based decision support system that will help policymakers, mid-tenure officers and new officers undergoing training.
Subrahmanyam referred to the Bihar Institute of Public Administration and Rural Development (BIPARD), which is set to usher in a new era of data-driven governance with the inauguration of its state-of-the-art GenNext Lab. The lab will be inaugurated by Subrahmanyam on Tuesday.
"Today's world is changing rapidly, and BIPARD understands that effective governance and policymaking must adapt to these changing realities. Today's citizens demand quick decisions, agile reforms and solutions to modern challenges. Adoption of new technologies is no longer just an option but a must for smart, responsive and visionary governance," he said.
A senior state government official said BIPARD is transforming governance training through three major labs aimed at transforming the way policy and governance are taught and implemented. These labs are part of the "Deep Knowledge and Intelligence Corridor", which is located at the BIPARD campus.
The official said that the Bihar Next-Gen Lab will train administrators using indigenous secure AI technologies. The integration of AI will provide secure data management as well as analytical tools and insights for better decision making. This lab will enable trainees and officials to use the power of AI to improve predictive analysis, policy-making and governance.
The second lab is 'Niti Shala', which will provide a real-life scenario experience through advanced simulation techniques, allowing trainees to encounter real-world situations.
The third lab is 'Vikat Chintan Kaksh', which has been developed as a collaborative space where state officials will be able to deliberate and strategize on important policy decisions together. This lab will be equipped with state-of-the-art communication and data-sharing facilities to help discuss and build consensus on policy reforms.
