Bihar Launches 'Surakshit Safar Suvidha' for Women's Safety
Women of Bihar will now be safe not only in their homes but also outside the house. Bihar Police is starting 'Surakshit Safar Suvidha' from September 15, so that on a call from the women, the police will reach the place immediately and help the woman. In case of any kind of inconvenience anywhere on the way, she can directly call 112 and get free service at any time and reach her destination safely.
'Surakshit Safar Suvidha' is being started from 05 September 2024 as a pilot project in six major districts of Bihar including the capital, Gaya, Muzaffarpur, Bhagalpur, Begusarai and Nalanda. Then from September 15, this service will be implemented in the entire state. Till now emergency police assistance, fire brigade and ambulance services are available in Bihar through dial 112. Now dial 112 is being expanded with the help of technical agency. 'Surakshit Safar Suvidha' has been added to the Dial 112 service for the women of the state, which is completely free. C-DAC will provide technical support in this entire project.
The biggest feature of this facility of the government will be that when a woman dials 112, she will remain in contact with Bihar Police throughout the journey until she reaches home. Along with this, the Dial 112 team will keep checking their security at regular intervals. During the journey of the woman, if she calls 112 and requests for this facility, then the team will digitally monitor her journey. If the women express any kind of concern during their journey or are unable to answer the call made by the Dial 112 team immediately, then immediate help will be provided to them with the help of Dial 112's ERV (Emergency Response Vehicle) vehicle / police station vehicle. The most important thing is that after reaching their destination safely, feedback will also be taken from them so that this facility can be improved further based on their feedback.
The special benefit of 'Surakshit Safar Suvidha' will be seen during festivals. For example, on the occasion of Durga Puja, Deepawali, Chhath, the movement of women increases in the area. Women go home from the market till late night to do shopping for festivals. In view of the upcoming festivals, Bihar Police is providing 'safe travel facility' to women before that so that they can feel safe even outside their home and celebrate the festival with joy.
