Bihar Government Launches Special MSME Development Program Under RAMP

The Department of Industry has taken a major initiative under the entrepreneurship development program under RAMP (Raising and Accelerating MSME Program). A special entrepreneurship development program has been prepared to promote micro, small and medium industries as well as strengthen their capabilities. A Memorandum of Understanding has been signed under this. Its objective is to prepare MSMEs in accordance with the global market. Along with this, the efficiency of small, micro and medium level units of the state is to be increased, financial inclusion is to be ensured and leadership skills are strengthened. So that these units of the state can compete at the national and international level. This program will be run in collaboration with the Central Government and the World Bank.

Under this, MoUs have been signed with many institutions. These include National Institute of Entrepreneurship and Small Business Development (NIESBUD), Chanakya Institute of Management (Patna), Indian Institute of Management (Bodh Gaya), Central Institute of Petrochemical Engineering and Technology (CIPET, Vaishali) and AMHSSC located in Bhagalpur. These premier institutes will provide non-residential training to 80 thousand MSMEs across the state, equipping them with the skills and knowledge required to succeed in a competitive business environment.

This specially designed training module will include important aspects such as digital and financial literacy, essential manufacturing and leadership development. Apart from linking and promoting products to the market, it also aims to develop clusters and provide domestic and global markets. Providing financial assistance is also the main objective in this.

Under RMP, 5 projects of Bihar were approved for Rs 135 crore. Under this, a target has been set to provide training to 1 lakh MSME units of the state. This includes digital, financial, key production, leadership development and other schemes. There is a plan to build a training center for this in all the districts.

In this, the focus will be especially on the export of GI tagged products of the state. Industry Minister Nitish Mishra, Director of Technical Development in the Industry Department Shekhar Anand, Assistant Industry Director Nisha Kumar and others were present in this signing ceremony.
