Bihar Gets Dedicated Push for Sports with New Department, Scholarship & Job Incentives

Patna: In a significant move to boost sporting talent in the state, Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar announced the establishment of a separate Department for Sports. This dedicated focus on athletics comes alongside the "Medal Lao Naukari Pao" scheme, where athletes who bring home medals are rewarded with government jobs.

Speaking on Saturday, Nitesh Kumar emphasized the state's commitment to sports development. He acknowledged that previously, sports activities fell under the Art, Culture, and Youth Affairs Department.
