Bihar Gears Up for Sepak Takraw World Cup 2025; Khelo India Youth Games to Boost Sports Infrastructure

In a meeting with departmental officials in Patna, Bihar today, the Additional Chief Secretary discussed about the Sepak Takraw World Cup. With the Sepak Takraw World Cup 2025 approaching, the Sports Department has made full preparations to host 20 countries and international players. This prestigious tournament will be held at the Patliputra Sports Complex in Patna from 20 to 25 March 2025.

All the necessary preparations have been finalized by the Sports Department, which includes international level sports facilities, necessary facilities for the players, security arrangements and other arrangements related to the event. This world-class event will give Bihar a new identity on the international sports platform and will also promote the development of sports in the state.

Gram Panchayat and Nagar Panchayat Sports Club Application Date Extended to 15 March 2025

The Additional Chief Secretary directed that the last date for application of Gram Panchayat and Nagar Panchayat Sports Clubs has been extended to 15 March 2025.

Those Gram Panchayats which have not been able to apply till now, now have the opportunity to apply. The aim of this initiative is to get maximum applications from all Gram Panchayats and Nagar Panchayats. Applications have been received from most of the Panchayats, but for those who are still pending, this is another chance.

Khelo India Youth Games will be organized in 5 districts

Khelo India Youth Games and sports infrastructure development in five districts - Begusarai, Bhagalpur, Rajgir, Gaya and Patna are also included in the priority. To inspect the progress of these projects, the Additional Chief Secretary himself will visit the site along with the Director General and Sports Director of Bihar State Sports Authority.

Control will be done through dashboard

The Sports Department will develop a new dashboard to ensure real-time monitoring of various sports infrastructure projects going on in Bihar. Through this dashboard, the District Sports Officer and other field officers will regularly share real-time images of sports infrastructure construction and maintenance. This will ensure effective monitoring of the progress of the projects.
