Bihar Flood: Chief Minister Nitish Kumar Visits Flood-Affected Areas of Darbhanga, Inspects Relief Camps and Food Packaging for Victims
Chief Minister Nitish Kumar took stock of the food packets being prepared for the Bihar flood victims at the Indoor Stadium in Darbhanga and took information about the items being given in the food packets. During this, the Chief Minister directed the District Magistrate and the concerned officials to provide relief material to the flood victims as soon as possible. The Chief Minister directed to give ex-gratia grants at the rate of Rs 7-7 thousand before October 9 in the accounts of flood-affected families of the area affected by the breach of Kosi Western embankment under Darbhanga district.
During the inspection, the Chief Minister said that the disaster victims have the first right to the state treasury. Make sure that the availability and distribution of relief material in flood-affected areas, medicine, animal feed, flood shelters, community kitchens, and dry ration packets/food packets are made available to the people on time. The Chief Minister was informed about the relief work being carried out by the Disaster Management Department through a presentation.
After inspecting the food packaging at the Indoor Stadium in Laheriasarai, Darbhanga, the Chief Minister also visited the flood-affected area of Kiratpur Kusheshwarsthan block. The Chief Minister took stock of the flood relief camp being run for flood-affected families in the Poonanch of Biraul subdivision area. Inspected the community kitchen running in Poonanch village where food, milk and other arrangements have been made for the flood-affected families. The Chief Minister also visited the food place, kitchen, water ATM, health camp, veterinary centre etc. The Chief Minister received feedback from the flood-affected families about the food, where the flood-affected families appreciated the quality of the food and the work being done by the district administration.
During this, the Chief Minister instructed the officials to continue the supply of drought relief and food packets to the flood-affected people. The Chief Minister presented a cheque/incentive amount of Rs 10,000 to the mother of the newborn child born in the relief camp.

District Magistrate of Darbhanga Mr. Rajiv Roshan, Superintendent of Police of Darbhanga Mr. Jagannath Reddy and officers of Disaster Management Department were present.
