Bihar Disburses ₹1200 Crore to 3 Lakh Families Under PM Awas Yojana Gramin

Chief Minister Shri Nitish Kumar today transferred a lump sum assistance amount of Rs 1200 crore as the first installment to 3 lakh families under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana Gramin from 'Sankalp' located at 1, Anne Marg by clicking the mouse.
During the program, Secretary of Rural Development Department, Shri Lokesh Kumar Singh, while giving information through presentation, said that under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana Gramin scheme, the first target of 2,43,903 was achieved in September 2024. An additional target of 5,46,745 has been received by the Ministry of Rural Development, Government of India from 27 January 2025. Thus, the state has received a total of 7,90,648 targets in the financial year 2024-25 under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana Gramin. A total assistance amount of Rs 1.20 lakh is given to the beneficiaries of Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana Gramin in three installments along with the progress of housing construction. In the scheme, 60 percent amount is borne by the Central Government and 40 percent amount is borne by the State Government. In this way, 40 percent i.e. Rs 48 thousand is given to the beneficiaries as state share.
It is noteworthy that earlier on 07 October 2024, Chief Minister Shri Nitish Kumar had made a lump sum payment of the first installment assistance amount to 1.05 lakh beneficiaries. An expenditure of Rs 420 crore was incurred on this.
In today's program, a lump sum payment of the first installment amount was made to 03 lakh beneficiaries at the rate of Rs 40 thousand. A total of Rs 1200 crore was spent on this. In the next 100 days, these beneficiaries will be paid at the rate of Rs 80 thousand in the form of second and third installment. Along with this, these beneficiaries will be given Rs 22,050 as unskilled labor for 90 days through MNREGA and Rs 12 thousand for toilet construction from Lohia Swachh Bihar Abhiyan. In this way, Rs. 1,54,050 (one lakh fifty four thousand fifty) will be given per beneficiary. In this way, 3 lakh beneficiaries who have benefited from this program will receive Rs. 4621.50 crore in the next 100 days.
During the program, the Chief Minister said that I congratulate the families who have benefited from this. I also congratulate the Rural Development Department for organizing today's program. Implement the schemes of the Central Government and the State Government properly so that the beneficiaries get immediate benefits. Take special care that the beneficiaries do not face any kind of inconvenience.
On this occasion, Deputy Chief Minister Mr. Samrat Chaudhary, Deputy Chief Minister Mr. Vijay Kumar Sinha, Rural Development Minister Mr. Shravan Kumar, Chief Secretary Mr. Amritlal Meena, Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister Dr. S. Siddharth, Secretary to the Chief Minister Mr. Anupam Kumar, Secretary of Rural Development Department Mr. Lokesh Kumar Singh, Secretary to the Chief Minister Mr. Kumar Ravi, Special Officer to the Chief Minister Mr. Gopal Singh, Chief Executive Officer of Jeevika Mr. Himanshu Sharma, Commissioner of MNREGA Mrs. Abhilasha Sharma and other senior officers were present, while the District Magistrates and some beneficiaries from the districts were connected through video conferencing.
