Bihar CM Urges PM Modi to Enhance Connectivity to Sita's Birthplace

Chief Minister Shri Nitish Kumar has written a letter to Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi regarding road and rail connectivity to Punaura Dham, the birthplace of Mother Sita, located in Sitamarhi district. Through the letter, it has been requested that the concerned ministry be directed to complete the construction work of Ram-Janaki Marg being built by the Government of India from Ayodhya to Sitamarhi district soon so that devotees can have convenience in traveling from Ayodhya to Punaura Dham.

Along with this, the Honorable Prime Minister has also been requested to direct the Railway Ministry to operate a Vande Bharat train between Ayodhya and Sitamarhi. The Chief Minister has written that with the construction of this route, devotees will have the convenience of coming to Punaura Dham, the birthplace of Mother Sita, along with Ayodhya. In the letter, the Chief Minister has written to the Prime Minister that first of all I congratulate you for the construction of the grand temple of Lord Ram in Ayodhya and the work done for the development of the holy city of Ayodhya. I am very happy to inform you that Punaura Dham situated in Sitamarhi district of Bihar state is famous as the birthplace of Mother Sita.

Like Lord Ram's birthplace Ayodhya, Punaura Dham, the birthplace of Mother Sita, also has great religious significance. The Bihar government has decided to acquire 50 acres of land here and expand and beautify the temple complex of Mother Sita under Punaura Dham. The Chief Minister has written that it is a matter of satisfaction that the Government of India is working for the construction of Ram-Janaki Marg from Ayodhya to Sitamarhi district. With the construction of this route, devotees will be able to come to Punaura Dham, the birthplace of Mother Sita, along with Ayodhya. He has requested that necessary instructions be given to the concerned ministry to complete this route soon.

The Chief Minister has written that the Government of India has done many public welfare works in recent times regarding railway connectivity, in which the operation of Vande Bharat train is also important. The state of Bihar has also benefited from this, for which I especially thank you. Better rail connectivity between Ayodhya and Sitamarhi will be of great convenience to the devotees. He has written requesting that the Railway Ministry be kindly given appropriate instructions for running a Vande Bharat train between Ayodhya and Sitamarhi as well.
