Bihar CM Nitish Kumar Reviews Kaithi Script Booklet at Revenue Department Stall

Chief Minister Shri Nitish Kumar visited the stall of Revenue and Land Reforms Department at Patna Gandhi Maidan and reviewed the booklet of Kaithi script released by the department. Additional Chief Secretary of the department Deepak Kumar Singh informed the Chief Minister about the specialty of this booklet and said that all the types of Kaithi scripts prevalent in Bihar have been included in it. Apart from this, the ACS told the Chief Minister that survey questions and answers (FAQ) related to land survey is also available here.

It is known that in Tirhut, Magadh and Maithil areas of Bihar, old Khatiyan are in Kaithi script, due to which common people have to face difficulties in understanding them.

For the convenience of the common people, it has also been uploaded on the department's websites from where people can download it for free. Talking to media persons, the Additional Chief Secretary said that our effort is that people do not face any kind of problem and people coming to visit the fair can also take advantage of the department's services by visiting the Revenue Department stall. Also, people can get the map of their village by paying the prescribed fee. He said that just like we learn a new language, similarly this booklet in Kaithi script will help people to understand their old Khatian.

Giving special information about this booklet, Director of Land Records and Measurement, Mrs. J. Priyadarshini said that old Khatian of some districts are in Kaithi script. Survey personnel as well as common people had difficulty in understanding it. It is available for free download on the website. The Directorate will soon get it printed and make it available to the common people in the form of a book at a fixed fee. This will bring transparency and speed in survey related works.

Additional Chief Secretary resolved the survey related problem of a citizen who had come to visit the fair on-the-spot. Sanjay Kumar, who came from Paliganj block to Patna Book Fair, presented his problem before the Additional Chief Secretary of the department, Mr. Deepak Kumar Singh. Sanjay Kumar's problem was related to the application for online mutation. Additional Chief Secretary directed the employee working at the stall of the department for immediate solution. His problem was solved in a short while.

Sanjay Kumar, a resident of Paliganj, said that he was not able to apply for online mutation for a long time. On investigation, it was found that this problem was in his entire block due to technical problems in the software.

He said that coming to the book fair was beneficial as this work was completed very quickly and easily. He also said that the services being provided by the department through the stall set up in the book fair are a good initiative for the common citizens.
