Bihar CM Nitish Kumar Hands Over Appointment Letters to 1,239 New Police Sub-Inspectors, Highlights Increase in Women Representation
Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Monday provided appointment letters to 1239 newly appointed police sub-inspectors. During this, the Chief Minister said that the number of women in the police force has increased. He symbolically provided appointment letters to Madhu Kashyap, Gautam Kumar, Shobha Rani, Ladli Kumari, Shivesh Kumar Jha, Komal Kumari, Reena Kumari and Roshni Kumari.
After lighting the lamp and inaugurating the program organized on this occasion, the Chief Minister said in his address that 442 women have been selected among the 1239 newly appointed police sub-inspectors. The Chief Minister said that in the year 2005, the number of police in the state was about 42 thousand. After this, the process of police recruitment was accelerated and now the number of police force has increased to 1 lakh 10 thousand. In the year 2013, 35 percent reservation was implemented for women in the police force, which increased the number of women in the police force.
He said, "Today the number of women in the police force has increased to about 30 thousand. There is no such number of women in the police force in other states of the country. The appointment of women police officers in women's police stations is making it easier for women to register complaints." The Chief Minister said that the number of police force in Bihar should be 2 lakh 29 thousand. Right now this number is 1 lakh 10 thousand. The recruitment process of 21 thousand police force is going on.
He instructed the Director General of Police to get the remaining 78 thousand police force reinstated soon. Complete the recruitment process for the remaining posts in the next 6 months. He said that we have improved the policing system. The Chief Minister said that the work of the police station was separated into two parts, investigation of cases and law and order, so that the work could be executed quickly and in a better manner.
He said that in the year 2020, under Saat Nishchay-2, we had talked about giving 10 lakh jobs and 10 lakh employment. So far, employment has been provided to 24 lakh people. A target has been set to employ 10 lakh more people. Out of the 10 lakh jobs that were promised, 7 lakh 16 thousand people have already been given jobs.
He said that jobs and employment are being provided to people of all classes and religions and no discrimination is being made in this. The CM said that the state is progressing with the cooperation of all the people. The central government is also giving a lot of help to Bihar. With everyone's cooperation, we will make Bihar a developed state, Bihar will progress further.
During the program, Director General of Police Alok Raj administered the departmental oath to the newly appointed police sub-inspectors and Chief Secretary Amrit Lal Meena administered the oath of prohibition. The program was also addressed by Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary, Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Kumar Sinha, Water Resources Minister Vijay Kumar Chaudhary, Chief Secretary Amrit Lal Meena, Principal Secretary of Home Department Arvind Kumar Chaudhary and Director General of Police Alok Raj.
