Bihar Cabinet Approves 36 Proposals to Boost State Development

The Council of Ministers in Bihar held a significant meeting today, approving a total of 36 proposals across various departments. The decisions aim to boost infrastructure, healthcare, education, and overall development in the state.

Under the leadership of Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, Bihar is experiencing rapid growth and development. The Chief Minister's vision and strategic planning have been instrumental in driving the state forward, implementing progressive policies, and attracting investments across various sectors. Key Highlights:

1. Finance Department: Approved the Bihar Purchase Preference Policy, 2024.

2. Transport Department:

- Authorized to determine maximum speed limits on various roads to reduce accidents.

- Approved re-operation of speed cameras on highways through Danapur Railway Division.

3. Tourism Department: Launched the Home Stay / Bed and Breakfast Promotion Scheme 2024 to enhance tourist facilities.

4. Energy Department:

- Approved Rs. 147.73 crore for constructing 12 new 132 kV transmission lines.

- Sanctioned Rs. 294.71 crore for reconductoring of 05 additional 132 kV transmission lines.

- Allocated Rs. 123.44 crore for installing new power transformers at grid sub-stations.

5. Health Department:

- Introduced "Mukhyamantri Bal Thalassemia Yojana" to provide up to Rs. 15 lakh per child for Beta Thalassemia Major treatment.

- Formed a committee for reimbursement of medical expenses for government employees and their dependents.

6. Public Health Engineering Department: Approved Rs. 3,611.45 crore for operation, repair, and maintenance of rural water supply schemes for 5 years.

7. Science, Technology and Technical Education Department: Sanctioned Rs. 72.61 crore for construction of hostels, guest houses, and auditoriums in Government Engineering College, Jamui.

8. Art, Culture and Youth Department: Increased the authorized share capital of Bihar State Film Development and Finance Corporation Limited to Rs. 5 crore.

9. Home Department: Approved Rs. 49.43 crore for constructing a sub-jail in Nirmali subdivision, Supaul district.

10. Sports Department: Allocated Rs. 48 crore for transfer of 1.6 acre plot near Pataliputra Sports Complex, Patna.

11. Panchayati Raj Department: Designated Block Development Officer as the Executive Officer of the Panchayat Samiti.

The Chief Minister's office stated that these decisions reflect the government's commitment to comprehensive development across various sectors in Bihar. Implementation of these schemes is expected to begin shortly, with relevant departments tasked to oversee their execution. These initiatives are set to further accelerate Bihar's growth trajectory under Chief Minister Nitish Kumar's visionary leadership.
