Bihar Accelerates Panchayat Building Construction with Strict Timelines

The construction work of Panchayat Government Buildings was reviewed through video conferencing under the chairmanship of Shri Kumar Ravi, Secretary, Building Construction Department, Bihar. Joint Secretary, Chief Engineer, all Chief Engineers and all Executive Engineers were present in the meeting through physical/online medium.

It has been directed in the meeting to set a target for early completion of the construction work of Panchayat Government Buildings. All the executive engineers were directed to complete the ground floor work by February next year and the first floor work by the end of March.

They were directed to ensure that the work of Panchayat Government building is completed by May next year at any cost. Any kind of negligence regarding the work will not be tolerated. Meanwhile, the executive engineers were directed to share photos with the location and give a report of the work every day.

Along with this, instructions have also been given to monitor the construction work on a daily basis. They have been asked to upload the work report on PMIS and give information about the progress of the work. The Chief Minister has been instructed to ensure better implementation of the priority scheme.

Construction of Panchayat Government Buildings is an important step towards strengthening the development of rural areas. In these buildings, facilities of public welfare schemes run by the state government will be made available under one roof, so that the rural people can get the benefit of government services at the local level. In each Panchayat Bhawan, there will be separate arrangements for the seating of the head of the Panchayat, Panchayat Secretary, Sarpanch, Revenue Employees and other employees.
