Akasa Air Flight Makes Emergency Landing at Delhi After Bomb Threat

A bomb threat was received on an Akasa Air flight from Delhi to Bengaluru on Wednesday. Following the standard security protocol, the flight was immediately sent back to IGI Airport, where it landed safely.

The plane has been placed in a separate isolation bay. All necessary procedures are being followed here to ensure the safety of passengers and crew. It is being told that the information about the bomb in the flight was received at 1.15 pm. There were a total of 184 people on board the flight.

At the same time, Delhi Police says that a security alert related to a bomb threat was received on an Akasa Air flight from Delhi to Bengaluru. Following the standard security protocol, the plane was immediately sent back to IGI Airport in Delhi, where it landed safely. The plane has been placed in an isolation bay and all necessary procedures are being followed to ensure the safety of passengers and crew.

Giving information about the incident, an Akasa Air spokesperson said, 'Akasa Air flight QP 1335, flying from Delhi to Bengaluru on 16 October 2024 and carrying 174 passengers, 3 infants and 7 crew members, received a security alert.

Akasa Air emergency response teams are monitoring the situation and have advised the pilot to take the aircraft to Indira Gandhi International Airport, Delhi with utmost caution. The captain is following all the necessary emergency procedures for a safe landing in Delhi and the estimated time of arrival is around 14:00.'

So far, 8 flights have received threats. Delhi-Chicago Air India flight, Jaipur-Bengaluru Air India Express, Dammam-Lucknow Indigo flight, Darbhanga-Mumbai SpiceJet flight, Siliguri-Bengaluru Akasa Air flight, Alliance Air's Amritsar-Dehradun-Delhi flight and Madurai to Singapore Air India Express flight were among the seven flights that received bomb threats. Now, after the threat to Akasa Air flight from Delhi to Bengaluru, this number has increased to eight. That is, a total of 8 flights have received threats in the last two days.

Similarly, on Monday also, a rumor of a bomb in the flight spread, in which three international flights coming from Mumbai were targeted. All the messages were declared as rumors on Monday after anti-terrorism security exercises were conducted by security, intelligence agencies, airlines and airport operators.
