WHO Declares Ampox a Global Public Health Emergency as Cases Surge Worldwide

In view of the increasing threat of ampox, the World Health Organization has declared it an international public health emergency across the world. The effect of this disease is being seen in more than 100 countries, which has also killed hundreds of people. The ampox disease is spread by the monkeypox virus, which spreads from one person to another by coming in contact with another. Although not a single case of this disease has been found in India yet, but still the Delhi government is on alert mode, so that it can be prepared for all the upcoming storms.

208 people have died due to ampox

The World Health Organization said in a report that after the year 2022, cases of ampox disease have been found in a total of 116 countries. So far 99,176 people have been infected by it and 208 people have lost their lives due to this disease. This is the reason why WHO has declared ampox as an international public health emergency, so that all countries are prepared in advance to deal with it. The Delhi government has geared up for this. 3 hospitals in Delhi have been ordered to set up Mpox isolation rooms.
