The bureau assessed his Jalalpur village home in January and acquired information on his riches and family's assets. Jalapur and the vigilance team could not be reached for comment. Gagandeep Singh, a son of Jalalpur, and nine other people were arrested by the district police in December after the Patiala Development Authority filed a complaint. (PDA). They were charged with creating unauthorised colonies in the villages of Nasirpur and Jalalpur.

When the state was led by the Congress and Charanjit Singh Channi served as its chief minister, the former lawmaker had managed to acquire for his son the position of PSPCL director (administration).
