Today this film is considered an iconic hit, and we are talking about the 90s blockbuster film ‘Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge’.

When the makers offered Shahrukh Khan the lead role i.e. the character of Raj Malhotra in the film Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge, he clearly refused it at first. Shahrukh said that in this film he had to play the role of a college-going young boy, while at that time Shahrukh was 30 years old. The makers had also offered this film released in 1995 to Saif Ali Khan, but he also rejected the offer.

This film, directed by Aditya Chopra, cost 40 lakhs at that time to make. However, the film earned 102 crores. Out of this, 89 crores were collected in India and 13.5 crores were collected overseas.

According to reports, the makers wanted to sign Tom Cruise for this film, but it was not possible due to the budget. However, Shahrukh did this film despite saying no and it proved to be the turning point of his career.
