Shahrukh, Hrithik and Abhishek had rejected the offer of this film released in 2006; but it became a blockbuster

Many stars in Bollywood rejected such films which later became blockbusters. Sometimes actors do this due to dates, sometimes due to budget or due to not liking the script. Sometimes actors do this even when their co-stars do not like them. In the year 2006, a film was released which stars like Shahrukh Khan, Hrithik Roshan and Abhishek Bachchan refused to do. But, when this film was ready and released in theatres, it became a blockbuster. This film later won 4 National Awards and reached the Oscars.

We are talking about 'Rang De Basanti' released in the year 2006. In which Aamir Khan was seen in the lead role. Along with him, stars like R Madhavan, Sharman Joshi, Kunal Kapoor, Atul Kulkarni, Waheeda Rehman and Soha Ali Khan were also in important roles in the film. The story of the film was so amazing that it touched the hearts of the audience. The film was so well-liked by the audience that it became the highest-grossing film in the country at that time. Rang De Basanti also received 4 National Awards.

However, it is another matter that the makers had first approached Shahrukh Khan, Hrithik Roshan, Abhishek Bachchan and Shahid Kapoor for this film. Shahrukh was offered Aamir's role, but in those days the superstar was busy shooting for 'Paheli' and he had future commitments as well. In such a situation, he refused to do it. Hrithik was first approached for the role of Ajay Rathore, but he refused to do it. Shahid Kapoor was offered the role of Karan Singhania, but he also said no to it for some reasons.

Apart from this, Abhishek Bachchan and Preity Zinta also refused 'Rang De Basanti' due to their reasons. The makers wanted to cast Preity Zinta in the role of Soha Ali Khan, but the actress refused to do this role. Director Rakesh Omprakash Mehra himself revealed this. He told in a conversation with IANS that he first wanted to cast stars like Shahrukh, Hrithik in the film, he also liked the script, but Shahrukh did not have time and neither did Hrithik.

After this, stars like Aamir Khan, R Madhavan, Sharman Joshi, Siddharth and Kunal Kapoor were cast in Rang De Basanti. The film was released in theaters in 2006 and won the hearts of the audience. It collected 53 crores in India and was selected as India's official entry for the Best Foreign Language Film for the 79th Academy Awards. However, the film did not make it to the nominations. However, it did win 4 National Awards.
