Lakhisarai to Host Its First Children's Film Festival, Inaugurated by Bihar's Deputy CM Vijay Kumar Sinha
For the first time, a film festival is going to be organized in Lakhisarai. This festival of Art, Culture and Youth Department and District Administration of Lakhisarai will be a three-day festival. Starting from Children's Day on 14th November till 16th November, Lakhisarai Children's Film Festival will be full of respected and inspiring films from the country. This festival is important from the point of view of Bihar's film promotion policy. The festival will be inaugurated by Bihar's Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Kumar Sinha at Lakhisarai Museum on 14th November at 11 am. The films will be screened at the Lakhisarai Museum as well as the Raj Cinema and Mahadev Talkies of the city. The theme of the festival is Nipun Bharat and Beti Bachao-Beti Padhao.
With the cooperation of the Education Department, children below the age of eighteen years will be official delegates to the festival. Admission of children will be free.
Among the selected films, are the Oscar award-winning film Gandhi, national and internationally acclaimed films like Lagaan, Iqbal, Chak De India, Tare Zameen Par, Chidiyakhana, I am Kalam, Andaman, Marathi film Kasturi, besides many short films will be shown and explained to the children. Inspirational films like Shera, The Silent Echo, Bittu, Baraat and Rang will be shown among the short films. The above was told by Lakhisarai District Magistrate cum Festival Director Mithilesh Mishra in a press conference held at Raj Cinema in the city.
Mr. Mishra also said that Lakhisarai Children's Film Festival is a national event. Probably, on the occasion of this Children's Day, the only Children's Film Festival in the country is going to be held in Lakhisarai. The district administration of Lakhisarai is committed to its successful organization. The festival has received support from the National Film Development Corporation of the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Government of India, the Bihar State Film Development and Finance Corporation of Bihar Government, the Film Critics Guild of India and the Film Society Cineyatra.
To promote Bihar's film promotion policy, India's International Film Festival will be held in Goa. Preparations are underway to send a delegation to Goa for this.
The coordinator of the festival and secretary of Cineyatra, Raviraj Patel said that this event is a matter of pride for the district. Many renowned artists from the Mumbai film industry are likely to arrive at this festival. While web series Aarya, Kalapani fame actor Vikas Kumar and National Film Award-winning film critic Deepak Dua are sure to come. Apart from film screenings for children in the festival, children will benefit from important activities like the discussion on Bihar's film promotion policy on films and technical aspects of cinema, quiz and master classes by actor Vikas Kumar.
Cinema Magistrate Shashi Kumar, District Public Relations Officer Vinod Prasad, General Manager of Raj Cinema Ritesh Kumar Singh, and Mahadev Cinema General Manager Shivam Bhardwaj also addressed the occasion.
DM announced the award
District Magistrate Mithilesh Mishra said that Lakhisarai district is also rich in terms of tourism and film locations. Therefore, any person who has a creative approach can tell the district administration about the importance of any place, house, river, mountain, temple, forest, water body or art village in any village in his area by looking at its aesthetic possibilities through photos and videos. The administration will reward the photographer of the selected photographs. The first place winner in the district will be given an incentive of twenty-one hundred rupees, the second one fifteen hundred rupees and the third one one thousand rupees.
