Govinda offered James Cameron's 'Avatar', but he turned it down, here's the reason

Famous Bollywood actor Govinda is known for his excellent comic timing and powerful dancing style, but recently he made a claim that created a stir in the film world. Govinda said that he was first approached for the Hollywood blockbuster film Avatar, but he turned down the offer. Not only that, but he also asserted that the film’s title, Avatar, was suggested by him. This is not the first time Govinda has talked about this, but recently in an interview with Mukesh Khanna, he reiterated this. His statement made a lot of headlines on social media and became a topic of discussion among film lovers.
Govinda, who was giving an interview with Mukesh Khanna for his YouTube channel, said that Oscar winner director James Cameron had first chosen him for the lead role in Avatar. But he refused to work in Avatar because that role was useless. He mentioned that his advice often proves beneficial for others. He also claimed that he once rejected a ₹21 crore offer simply because he didn’t like it.
Referring to his meeting with James Cameron, Govinda said that I gave the idea of doing a sweets business to a Sardar ji in America. After a few years, he said that the business was working. The same Sardar introduced Govinda to James Cameron.
During his meeting with James Cameron, Govinda said that the director told him about the hero of the film, who was a Divyang. On this, Govinda jokingly said, "Divyang, Govinda, hello! I am not doing your film." James offered him ₹18 crores, but Govinda flatly refused and said that he did not need money.
Apart from this, he also cited the long shooting schedule of the film as a major reason for its rejection. The shooting of the film was to last for 410 days, and continuously applying paint on the body could have affected his health, which could have led to his going to the hospital.
For information, let us tell you that Avatar was released in 2009, while its second part came in 2022. According to reports, Avatar 3 is planned to be released in 2025, and apart from this, the makers are also working on Avatar 4 and Avatar 5.
