During a recent interaction, the 'Ghajini' star shared, "I have just begun. We have recently started, assembled a team for writing, and everything has just started." When asked if the project can be expected to be released in the next five years, Aamir replied that the timeline will largely depend on how the shooting of the film is progressing according to the story. Last year, Aamir spoke about the 'Mahabharata' project in an interview with BBC News India.

Apart from 'Mahabharata', Aamir Khan is also in the news for his upcoming film 'Sitare Zameen Par'. It is a sequel to the 2007 film 'Taare Zameen Par'. However, it will introduce new characters and a new story. During the interection, Aamir promised that the release date of 'Sitare Zameen Par' will be announced today on the occasion of his birthday. Aamir Khan was last seen in 'Lal Singh Chaddha' with Kareena Kapoor and Mona Singh. Aamir Khan also said that he is talking to director Rajkumar Santoshi about the sequel of the cult classic film 'Andaz Apna Apna' along with Salman Khan.
