DSLSA Awareness Campaign Asserts Right To Legal Empowerment
Delhi State Legal Services Authority, a Body under Delhi High Court and Delhi Public Library, Ministry of Culture, Govt. of India organized a grand Legal Awareness Campaign consisting of Poetry Recitation (Kavi Goshthi) and training workshop. On this occasion a felicitation ceremony was also organized by Bhartiya Jan Sahyog Samiti (Regd.) and Hindi-Urdu Adbi Sangam. The programme started with a Message sent by District Judge Mukesh Kumar Gupta, Member Secretary, Delhi State Legal Services Authority. In his message, while conveying best wishes for the program, he described the legal awareness campaigns and poetry recitation as a unique effort and a powerful means of arousing legal awareness. Chief coordinator of the program, Vijay Gaur quoting headlines of Newspapers and narrating true incidents, emphasised upon the vital role of the legal service authority as a boon by spreading awareness and providing legal aid to the victims of various crimes.
Prof. S. K. Singh, Vice Chancellor, Rajasthan Technical University, Kota, called the participation of youth in legal awareness as the need of the hour, Justice Pranat Kumar Joshi, Secretary DLS elaborated on the leading role of the authority in providing free legal aid and justice to all. Dala Director General Delhi Public Library described the library as an effective medium of awareness. The chief convenor of the program, Vijay Gaur, threw light on the news-headlines and true incidents and told how the authority proved to be a boon by providing legal aid to the victims of various crimes.
Dr. Ramesh Kumar, Vice Chancellor Delhi Pharmaceutical Sciences and Research University, Vijay Gaur, General Secretary, Bhagidari Jan Sahyog Samiti, Sh. Virender Punj, Assistant Commissioner of Police, Delhi Police, Ms. Neerja Chaturvedi, RJ FM Rainbow All India Radio, Sh. Rakesh Gaur, Former Director, New Delhi Municipal Council & Founder President, Udisha/NGO, Advocate Suman Arpan, Assistant Professor, Anamika Rohilla recited poems arousing legal awareness. The whole auditorium echoed with thunderous applause of the hundreds of audiences.
On this occasion, Professor S. K. Singh, Vice Chancellor Rajasthan Technical University Kota, Prof. Neeraj Khatri, Dean. KR Mangalam University, Gurugram, were felicitated for their outstanding services in environmental protection, education, art and literature, women empowerment and social service sectors. Ms. Neerja Chaturvedi, RJ FM Rainbow All India Radio, Dr. Sushma Chawla, Founder President Hope : Ek Asha and Sh. Rakesh Gaur Founder President, Udisha/ NGO were jointly honored with National Award by Justice Pranat Kumar Joshi, Sh. Vijay Gaur and Dr. Syed Ali Akhtar Naqvi. Another highlight of the program was the release of book "Adhunik Sahityik Jagat Ke Anmol Ratna" authored by Dr. Syed Ali Akhtar Naqvi. 50 writers and poets mentioned in the book were honored with Sahitya Ratna Award and 10 media representatives were also honored with Media Awards. The Poetry Recitation was anchored by Ms. Neerja Chaturvedi. The overall program was very efficiently anchored by Delhi High Court's Deputy Registrar Ms. Kamlesh Sharma and coordinated by Sh. Bharat Bhushan, Vice President, Bhagidari Jan Sahyog Samiti and Chief Warden Civil Defense, Sh. Syed Saud Ziad and Sh. Taranjit Singh.
