Indian Air Force MiG-29 Fighter Jet Crashes Near Agra, Both Pilots Eject Safely

An Indian Air Force fighter aircraft Mig-29 crashed in Agra, Uttar Pradesh on Monday. The aircraft caught fire while flying. After which it fell into a field turning into a ball of fire. There were 2 pilots in the aircraft at the time of the crash. Both the pilot and the co-pilot ejected from the aircraft within a few seconds of the fire. The pilot and the co-pilot landed 2 kilometers away using parachutes.

According to the report, the IAF's Mig-29 aircraft was going to Agra from Adampur in Punjab for routine exercise. After the crash, it fell into a field in Songa village of Kagaraul near Agra. Orders have been given for a court of inquiry into the accident.

The video of the crash of the MiG-29 is being shared on social media. In the video, a crowd of people can be seen around the burning aircraft. During this, some people can also be seen picking up pieces of the aircraft. On receiving information about the accident, top army officials, defense officials and DM reached the spot.

MiG-29 is a high-tech fighter jet manufactured in Russia. In NATO, the US allies' organization, MiG-29 is known as 'Fulcrum'. In India, it is called 'Baz'. It was officially commissioned in the Indian Air Force in 1987. The report says that the fighter jet that crashed was an upgraded version of the MiG-29 UPG.
