Youth Should Build a New India Through Creative Efforts: Meeta Rajivlochan

K.R. Mangalam University, in collaboration with Motherland Voice Daily, Bhagadari Jan Sahyog Samiti, and Punjab and Sind Bank, organized an orientation program under the theme "Empower the Future: Role of Youth in Nation Building and Development" on September 23, 2024, to commemorate National Service Scheme (NSS) Day. The event was held in hybrid mode, allowing both on-campus and online participants to engage in meaningful discussions.

Meeta Rajivlochan, Secretary (Youth Affairs), Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports, Government of India, sent a message encouraging students and the organizing team. She emphasized that India, with its large youth population, has great expectations from its young citizens. Urging NSS members to recognize their potential, she stressed the need for creative efforts to build a new India.

"Youth must engage with society, become a means to solve social problems, and serve as ideal citizens," she said. This effort, she added, would testify to the success of NSS objectives.

Meeta Rajivlochan requested Bhagadari Jan Sahyog Samiti to connect the university's NSS unit with legal awareness campaigns and share their experience to benefit NSS members. She congratulated NSS, K.R. Mangalam University, on organizing the grand event.

The program featured addresses by Vice-Chancellor Prof. Raghuwir Singh; Judge and Secretary of DLSA, Gurgaon, Ramesh Chander; Bureau Chief of Motherland Voice Daily, Vijay Gaur; President of Bhagadari Jan Sahyog Samiti; State NSS Officer of Haryana, Dr. Dinesh Kumar; Deputy General Manager of Punjab and Sind Bank, A.N. Singh; renowned cyber law expert, Dr. Rakshit Tandon; and famous poet and Director of Jays Foundation, Ms. Nazreen Ansari 'Rafi'.

NSS students showcased their talents through cultural performances, including dance, singing, and poetry. The performances highlighted Indian culture's diversity and festive spirit, patriotic songs, and poems focusing on social issues and nation-building.

The program concluded with the awarding of NSS volunteers for their special efforts in social outreach programs, such as blood donation drives, women empowerment workshops, and environmental campaigns. The Vice-Chancellor and distinguished guests personally handed over the awards, encouraging volunteers to continue their social service.

The event ended on a high note, inspiring participants to work towards nation-building and social welfare. Guest speakers praised Vice-Chancellor Raghuwir Singh's leadership and the organizing skills of NSS Program Coordinator, Dr. Neeraj Kumari.

Distinguished guests, including Registrar Dr. Rahul Sharma, IQAC Coordinator Dr. Shikha Dutta Sharma, and Associate Dean of SOLS, Dr. Inderpreet Kaur, attended the event.
