Candidates of Bihar brought laurels in civil services exams with the help of a scheme launched by Nitish Kumar

After the declaration of UPSC's main results, it has been recorded that the highest number of candidates who have cleared the civil services exams are students hailing from Bihar. This miracle has happened because of the Scheme launched by the Chief Minister of Bihar, With the support of the "civil service incentive scheme", students- belonging to backward and extremely backward areas are able to crack the civil services exam. The Candidates who are benefited from the chief minister's scheme are from extremely backward classes. With the help of cash incentives provided under this scheme, the students were able to crack the preliminary exams of UPSC and state. There are 71 candidates who have cleared the exam and most of them hail from Bihar. The candidates who have secured a rank under the top 60 are Sadanand Kumar (Rank 8), Mayank Prakash (Rank 14), Mithilesh Kumar (Rank 24), and Mohd Masroor Akhtar (Rank 25), Vinay Kumar (Rank (59)) have. On May 8, 2018, the "civil service incentive scheme" got approved by the state cabinet. After passing, there is a provision to give incentive amount of fifty thousand rupees and one lakh rupees respectively for the preparation of the main examination. According to this "The scheme is aimed at supporting extremely backward candidates who cannot afford to take coaching for civil services exams. But under this project, they can get better guidance and support, so that they can clear the exam as well as interview. One of the students Mohd. Masroor Akhtar who has secured 25th rank in prelims was given an incentive of 50 thousand under the chief minister scheme. A total of 37 candidates have benefited in the year 2021. On the success of candidates, the Hon'ble Deputy Chief Minister Pankaj Kumar "congratulated all the candidates while expressing his happiness".
