New Delhi, Feb. 4, 2024: The newly-elected Executive Committee of the Youth for Panun Kashmir, a leading Kashmiri Pandit Youth Organization, in its first Executive Committee meeting defined its future plan of action and enlisted the roles & responsibilities for each of the Committee member.
Throwing open the meeting, Sh. Vithal Chowdhary, President, Y4PK, reiterated the organization’s commitment to the “Margdarshan Resolution 1991”, while enlisting the important tools necessary to achieve the goal of Homeland. He said, “First and foremost, we need to have our genocide recognized through building pressure on the GOI to enact the Genocide Bill an recognize the Kashmiri Pandit genocide.” Sh. Chowdhary further put forth that the organization needed to “create a national sentiment across India in support of Homeland.” He mentioned that Y4PK had already carried out a successful, similar movement called “Ek Bharat Abhiyan”, at the end of which, more than 200 organizations offered their written support to the cause of Kashmiri Pandits. Towards the end of his address, he advised the members to adopt an honest & dedicated approach towards the community’s cause.
Before the President spoke, General Secretary Sh. Digamber Raina introduced the agenda to set the tone of the meeting.
During the course of the meeting, Ms. Rashi Razdan, Joint Secretary (Social Media Relations), and Sh. Anhad Jhakmola, Jt Secy (Political Affairs), made presentations, explaining in detail the action plan to carry forward the community’s cause with respect to creation of a separate homeland in the Valley. It was decided that apart from enhancing the reach of the organisation among the community, as well as, the rest of the India, Y4PK needed to create an outreach on the social media and also initiate parleys with members of other like-minded organisations across the socio-cultural and political landscape of the country.
The Committee agreed to follow the action plan chalked out at the meeting and decided to make it a milestone-based journey, as per the suggestion of President Vithal Chowdhary.
In his closing remarks, Gen. Secy. Sh. Digamber Raina exhorted the members to create a strong national network to achieve the community’s goals at an earliest. He said, “We must connect with organizations across the nation to unite together and achieve our goal.”
The Executive Committee is scheduled to meet again in the month of March, 2024.
