Uber Introduces 'Uber Shikara' Service to Boost Tourism in Jammu and Kashmir

Uber has launched the 'Uber Shikara' service to promote tourism in Jammu and Kashmir. This service gives tourists the option to book a Shikara ride on Dal Lake in advance through the Uber app. This is a limited-time service so that tourists can enjoy the beauty of Dal Lake during their holidays.

'Uber Shikara' can be booked through the app without any additional charge. The entire amount will be given to the Shikara driver, which will provide financial help to people associated with local tourism. A Shikara ride can be booked for 1 hour and can seat up to 4 passengers. This service can be booked from 12 hours in advance to 15 days in advance. During the journey, tourists will also get the facility of travel insurance, which will make their journey safer and more comfortable.

How to book Uber Shikara?

  • Update the Uber app on App Store/Play Store.
  • Select 'Shikara Ghat No. 16' as the pickup location.
  • Select Uber Shikara
  • Select the date and time (Service is available only from 10 AM to 5 PM.)
  • Confirm the booking and enjoy the trip.
