NBPDCL Achieves A Grade in Consumer Service Rating

Patna: North Bihar Power Distribution Company Limited (NBPDCL) has been awarded an A grade in the latest Consumer Service Rating 2023-24 released by the Ministry of Power, Government of India. This grading reflects NBPDCL's commitment to providing excellent and uninterrupted power services to its consumers.


NBPDCL achieved this rating based on its performance in four key parameters: operational reliability, connections and other services, metering-billing and collection, and fault restoration and complaint redressal.


Notably, in the previous financial year, North Bihar had received a B rating. NBPDCL has continuously worked towards innovating and bringing transparency in its services, understanding the needs of its consumers, which has resulted in achieving an A rating this financial year.


The company is focusing on adopting advanced technologies and structural improvements to make power distribution more efficient, uninterrupted, and accessible. Additionally, in the 13th Annual Integrated Rating of Power Finance Corporation Limited, NBPDCL has made a significant leap, ranking 24th among 52 discoms across India.


In the previous financial year, North Bihar had received a C rating, which has improved to B this year. The score has increased from 30.8 to 52.9, and the report mentions progress in the direction of improvement. This is evidence of financial and operational improvements, including better billing and collection efficiency and reduced Aggregate Technical and Commercial Losses.
