Bihar Business Roadshow in Ludhiana: A Gateway to Industrial Growth and Investment

Under the leadership of Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, the Bihar government continues to take steps aimed at strengthening the state's economic foundation through industrial development. To achieve this goal, the Bihar Government organized a special business roadshow in Ludhiana, which proved to be a significant milestone in its ambitious efforts to attract investments and promote industrial development. The event is part of the much-awaited Bihar Business Connect 2024 Global Investors Summit, aimed at showcasing Bihar’s vast potential in various sectors such as textiles, food processing and general manufacturing.


The summit was organized under a Business to Government (B2G) approach and was attended by prominent industry leaders such as Mr. Kamal Oswal, Managing Director, Nahar Group, Rakesh Goyal, Managing Director, Candex Filament, etc.

The Industries Department, Government of Bihar hosted this impressive investor summit in Ludhiana which was attended by the Secretary, Industries Department, Smt. Vandana Preyasi and other concerned officials including the Director of Industries. The roadshow was organized to promote investments and showcase the investor-friendly policies of Bihar.

Titled 'Unlocking Bihar's Potential: Investor Summit', the roadshow aimed to showcase emerging opportunities, infrastructure projects and attractive policies that make Bihar a prime destination for investors. Secretary, Industries Department, Smt. Vandana Preyasi interacted with the investors and discussed the vast benefits of investing in Bihar. In addition, the Director of Industries and other officials also visited the Mega Food Park. During this, they saw how Mega Food Park is promoting agro-based industries by bringing together local farmers, entrepreneurs and industries. They also observed the work units and facilities provided by the Punjab Government. Developed by Punjab Agro Industries Corporation, the park is a major hub for food processing entrepreneurs, providing a wide range of facilities such as plotted areas, MSME sheds, and core processing infrastructure. The main objective of the visit was to promote investment opportunities in Bihar and understand how this model of Mega Food Park can be successfully implemented in the state.

The roadshow highlighted the government's continued efforts to transform Bihar into an industrial powerhouse, highlighting its strategic location, improved connectivity and pro-growth policies. With the development of industrial corridors like the Delhi-Mumbai Industrial Corridor (DMIC) and the Amritsar-Kolkata Industrial Corridor (AKIC), Bihar is well-positioned to attract substantial investments.


The summit focused on key growth areas, including emerging sectors such as textiles, food processing and general manufacturing. The event in Ludhiana provided a platform for investors and industry leaders to share information about Bihar's diverse economic potential.

The key focus areas are as follows:

Textiles: Bihar is emerging as a major player in the textile industry, with special emphasis on technical textiles and sustainable fibres such as jute and bamboo.

Food Processing: Leveraging its agricultural strengths including crops such as banana, makhana and maize, Bihar offers vast opportunities for investment in the food processing industry.

General Manufacturing: Bihar is rapidly growing its manufacturing sector, providing ample opportunities for companies looking to expand their operations.

Several prominent industry leaders have expressed their support for Bihar’s initiative and highlighted their positive experiences in the state. Mr. Kamal Oswal, Managing Director, of Nahar Group said “Nahar Group, a leader in real estate with over 20 million sq ft of developed projects in Mumbai, has successfully diversified into sectors such as education, healthcare, retail, hospitality, entertainment and business centers. Echoing the commitment towards growth, Secretary, of Industries, Ms. Bandana Preyasi emphasized the investor-friendly approach of the state and said: “Our priority is to facilitate a seamless investment process in Bihar. We have made significant progress in industrial policy reforms, land acquisition and infrastructure development. The roadshow in Ludhiana highlights these initiatives and showcases how Bihar is poised to become the next major industrial hub.”

The Bihar government invited investors from Ludhiana and across India to explore the immense potential of Bihar. The attendees were invited to invest in various emerging sectors of Bihar.
