Air India Prepares for Smooth Transition as Vistara Merger Takes Off
As Air India and Vistara merge on November 12, 2024, India’s leading airline is preparing a seamless transition for travellers. The merger will impact around 115,000 customers holding Vistara tickets, who will now fly under Air India, while still enjoying the renowned Vistara experience.
Post-merger, Vistara aircraft will continue flying with the same crew, services, and schedules, but with a new Air India flight code beginning with “2.” For example, Vistara flight UK 955 will change to Air India AI 2955. Bookings for these flights can be made on the Air India website.
The unified Air India offers travelers greater connectivity, with over 90 direct domestic and international routes and access to 800+ destinations through global partnerships. Air India’s loyalty program is also welcoming over 4.5 million Vistara loyalty members, expanding reward options for frequent flyers.
Further, Air India’s upgraded fleet features new A320neo aircraft with enhanced interiors, luxurious Business and Premium Economy seats, and upgraded Economy seating for extra comfort. Thoughtful touches like new cabin lighting, ample legroom, and modern amenities—including USB ports and device holders—enhance the inflight experience for all passengers.
With these changes, Air India is ready to elevate its customers' travel experience, making their journeys more comfortable and connected across the globe.
