Punjab Government Plans Artificial Rain and Anti-Smog Measures to Combat Rising Air Pollution

The Air Quality Index of Lahore has reached 394, which is considered very bad. At the same time, due to the ever-increasing pollution, the Punjab government of Pakistan has planned artificial rain to reduce the effect of fog.
Let us tell you that the crisis of air pollution is increasing due to the continuous burning of crop residues and smoke coming out of factories. Due to dangerous pollution in Lahore, people here are facing many types of diseases. People here have to deal with problems like cough, difficulty in breathing, eye irritation and skin infection.
At the same time, in view of the ever-increasing pollution, Pakistan's Punjab Information Minister Azma Bukhari held a press conference. He said in the press conference, 'Yesterday Lahore was declared the most polluted city in the world. We have taken many initiatives to solve this matter and now we are planning artificial rain in the city.'
At the same time, Maryam Nawaz's Punjab government has also formed an anti-smog team, which will visit the affected areas. These teams will inform the farmers about the dangers of burning crop residues. Apart from this, they will create awareness to promote the use of super seeders and will provide information about alternative methods for disposing of crop residues.
Regarding pollution, Punjab Environment Minister Maryam Aurangzeb said, 'The positive effects of the steps taken to deal with smog will be visible in eight to 10 years. Environmental protection has been included as a subject in the curriculum in the province.' Apart from this, she appealed to the farmers to avoid burning crop residues. She said that doing so not only damages the crops, but also affects the health of their children.
Let us tell you that the AQI level has reached 395 in Lahore, the world's most polluted city. AQI is a measure of the concentration of various pollutants in the air. An AQI between zero and 50 is considered 'good', 51 and 100 'satisfactory', 101 and 200 'moderate', 201 and 300 'poor', 301 and 400 'very poor', and 401 and 500 'severe'.
