The country's largest car company Maruti Suzuki India is looking to bring the 'Jimny' brand to India to strengthen its SUV portfolio. A senior company official said that customer feedback in this regard is being assessed. Let us know that for a long time Jimny has been considering to launch in the Indian market. At the same time, the production of the three-door Jimny vehicle is done at the company's Gurugram plant. From where it is exported to the markets of West Asia and Africa. Let us tell you, Jimny is available in the global market for the last 50 years. Shashank Srivastava, Senior Executive Director of the company said, "We had showcased it at Auto Expo-2020. Customers have given very good feedback about it. Now we are studying them. And then definitely thinking about it. Will do whether it can be brought here or not. He further said that this SUV is definitely small, but there is a segment of customers who like such vehicles. Its value to launch any kind of new product in the market There are many aspects to be evaluated from right to supply." He said that there has been some delay in the launch of the new product due to Corona, but now we are ready for it. The company wants to further strengthen its position in the mid SUV segment, where its market share is less as compared to other companies. Srivastava further added, "We have a market share of around 13-14 per cent in the SUV market. In the entry level SUV segment category, Vitara Brezza is the best selling vehicle irrespective of the new additions." But, if we look at the mid-SUV segment, which currently accounts for around 18 per cent of the entire PV segment, our market share is very small. We have S-Cross in that space which is not providing enough volume. So clearly we have less market share in the growing segment. So the company is watching the mid-SUV segment very closely."
