Patna: The Bihar Cricket Association (BCA) President, Mr. Rakesh Tiwari, has showered accolades on young batting sensation Vaibhav Suryavanshi for etching his name in the record books by smashing the fastest century by an Indian player in the Indian Premier League (IPL). The BCA President described Vaibhav's innings as "nothing short of extraordinary."

Just days after realizing his IPL dream with his debut, the prodigious Vaibhav set the cricketing world ablaze on Monday, reaching the coveted three-figure mark in a mere 35 deliveries. His blistering knock was studded with seven boundaries and eleven towering sixes, significantly bolstering the Rajasthan Royals' aspirations of securing a playoff berth in the ongoing IPL season.

BCA President Rakesh Tiwari, who was present at the stadium alongside the Rajasthan Royals Chairman, expressed immense pride and unwavering belief in Vaibhav's exceptional performance following the match.

"Vaibhav has once again made Bihar and the entire nation proud. To achieve the fastest Indian century in IPL history at the tender age of just 14 is a truly remarkable feat. His fearlessness, exceptional talent, and maturity that belies his age are truly inspiring," Mr. Rakesh Tiwari stated.

He further added, "I have always believed that Vaibhav is destined for greatness, and today he has taken another giant stride in that direction. This is just the beginning of what promises to be an extraordinary journey."

Opening the innings, Vaibhav forged a formidable 166-run partnership for the first wicket alongside Yashasvi Jaiswal. The Rajasthan Royals raced to 166 runs in just 12 overs in their 47th match of IPL 2025 against the Gujarat Titans. Last year, Vaibhav became the youngest player to be picked in the IPL auction when the Rajasthan Royals secured his services for a sum of ₹1.1 crore. His stellar 2024 season witnessed impressive performances at both domestic and international levels.

Born on March 27, 2011, in Bihar, Vaibhav is the youngest player participating in this year's IPL. He had earlier made his first-class debut for Bihar in January 2024 at the remarkable age of just 12 years and 284 days.

In his List A debut during the Vijay Hazare Trophy 2024-25, Vaibhav played a scintillating innings of 71 runs off just 42 balls against Baroda, becoming the youngest Indian to score a half-century in List A cricket.

On the international stage, Vaibhav also etched his name in the record books by scoring the fastest youth Test century, reaching the milestone in just 58 balls against Australia in Chennai.
