Bihar CM Nitish Kumar Unveils Logo and Mascot for Women's Asian Champions Trophy 2024
Rajgir to Host the Prestigious Women's Hockey Tournament from November 11-20, Featuring Teams from Six Countries
Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar unveiled the logo design and mascot of the Women's Asian Champions Trophy, 2024, to be held for the first time in Bihar, at 'Sankalp' located at 1 Anne Marg.
During the program, through a presentation, the Director General of Bihar State Sports Authority, Shri Ravindran Shankaran told the Chief Minister that Bihar is hosting the Women's Asian Champions Trophy, which will be organized at the Sports Stadium of Rajgir from 11 to 20 November. Women's hockey teams from six countries, India, China, Japan, South Korea, Malaysia and Thailand will participate in it. The mascot of this competition 'Doll' is inspired by the state bird of Bihar, sparrow. The hockey stick in the hand of the doll is the symbol of hockey competition and the goalkeeper's glove in the hand and the defensive posture reflect the strategic qualities of alertness, agility and protection in a goalkeeper. A ball kept nearby for the entire team reflects the necessity of playing together with sportsmanship. This competition is for women hockey players, so a doll mascot has been chosen as a sparrow symbol to reinforce the priority and commitment of the Bihar government to women's empowerment. The design of the 'logo' of this competition is a symbol of the rich cultural historical heritage and all-round progress of glorious Bihar. The Bodhi tree and hockey stick have been kept as the logo. The Bodhi tree is a symbol of knowledge power, harmony, tolerance and development which connects people with the rich spiritual and cultural history of Bihar. 'Hockey stick' is the symbol of India's national sport hockey.
During the program, the Chief Minister said that it is a matter of great happiness that the Women's Asian Champions Trophy, 2024 is being organized in Rajgir. A grand sports stadium has been built in Rajgir. I wish the players of the Indian women's hockey team all the best and welcome the players coming from other countries. He said that all arrangements should be made in a better way for the people coming from outside. There should be no shortage of any kind in the facility. All the guests should be well hosted so that they have a good experience in Bihar. He said that the state government will make every possible effort and cooperation to make the competition a success.
During the program, Vice-Captain of the Indian Women's Hockey Team, Ms. Navneet Kaur thanked the Chief Minister for organizing this competition in Rajgir. She said that she has played in many stadiums around the world but the beautiful hockey stadium built in Rajgir with a combination of modern and ancient styles is amazing and has not seen anything like it anywhere else. Ms. Navneet Kaur expressed her gratitude to the Chief Minister and said that you have built a very big and grand sports stadium in Rajgir. We go to play in our country as well as in other countries but have not seen such a good sports complex anywhere. I am happy to come to Bihar. We are all happy that such a good work is being done for the interest of sports in Bihar under your leadership. We are proud of Bihar and the country.
During the program, a 30-second jingle based on the Women's Asian Champions Trophy, 2024 was presented to the Chief Minister. During the program, Indian Women's Hockey Team Captain Ms. Selema Tete and Vice-Captain Ms. Navneet Kaur presented a memento to the Chief Minister.
