The West Bengal government has given its status report to the court in this case. This report has been given regarding the large number of people reaching the spot. The report of the Health Department of the West Bengal government has also been given to the court.
At the same time, the CBI has also filed its status report in this case. Kapil Sibal has said that 23 people died during the doctors' strike. We have filed the status report of the investigation. Sibal said that 23 people have died due to the doctors not working.
At the same time, the Solicitor General said that he had not received the report. The bench examined the report presented in a sealed envelope. While reading the CBI's status report, the CJI asked the SG how far the principal's house is from the college. To this, the SG said it is at a distance of 15-20 minutes.
Students and junior doctors of Kolkata's RG Kar Medical College are monitoring the Supreme Court hearing through the screen. The eyes of the whole country are fixed on the hearing on this matter. CJI asked Sibal if we wanted to know at what time UD (unnatural death) 861/2024 was registered. SG said she is a daughter, a daughter to all of us, I adopt that sentiment.
Sibal said that from 8:30-10:45 pm, search and seizure was done, once the body was removed for postmortem, then photographs were taken. CJI said there is CCTV footage to show at what time the accused came in and was present there, obviously there will be footage after 4:30 am. Has the CCTV footage been handed over to the CBI in its entirety? To this, the SG replied in the affirmative. SG said there are 4 clippings, a total duration of 27 minutes.
Sibal said there are two things. (1) seizure given 8:30-10:45. (2) videos in hard disk given in parts, stored in parts due to technical glitch, but given in full. SG said we have the forensic report, one thing is admitted, when girl was found at 9:30, she was in semi-nude state, jeans and undergarments removed, and there were injury marks on her body. They have taken samples, sent to CFSL again.
SG said CBI has decided to send samples to AIIMS and other CFSL. Who took samples, this has become relevant. SG says samples were tested in CFSL in Bengal.
CJI told CBI we don't want to comment on the investigation in court. CBI should file a status report in court within a week. SG said there are two samples, or two swabs and results. CJI said that we have seen the further direction of the investigation, but we do not want to comment on it in open court. We want a status report by Tuesday, CBI should proceed based on the clues it is finding. Now the next hearing on this case will be on Tuesday.
