Strengthening Governance: Bihar Administrative Reforms Mission Society's New Initiatives Under CM Nitish Kumar
Advancing Efficiency and Transparency in Administration through IT and Welfare Reforms
Bihar Administrative Reforms Mission Society (BASMS), under the guidance of the state's Chief Minister, Nitish Kumar, is actively involved in making the state's administrative system efficient, effective, and responsible. The mission's main objective is to provide better services to the public by increasing the efficiency and motivation of public servants.
The Mission effectively implements the Bihar Right to Public Services Act, Bihar Public Grievance Redressal Act, and Bihar Government Servant Grievance Redressal System. To provide information related to government offices and officers to the general public, the Jigyasa Helpline (0612-2233333) and Samadhan Helpline for registering complaints are operated.
The declaration of movable and immovable assets by the officers and employees of Group 'A', 'B' and 'C' of the State is being uploaded and maintained on the Mission's website. Also, to ensure extensive use of IT, the officers of the Indian Administrative Service and Bihar Administrative Service are being given the facility of reimbursement on the purchase of laptops and mobile phones.
128 IT Managers, 910 IT Assistants and 3099 Executive Assistants are working for IT management in the state. Along with running their work smoothly, now health facilities will also be provided to them.
In the meeting of the Governing Council held on 18th November 2024, it was decided to implement the Group Health Insurance Scheme. Under this scheme, IT Managers, IT Assistants and Executive Assistants will get the benefit of health facilities. The Principal Secretary of, General Administration Department has been authorized for its implementation.
This step will prove to be important in increasing technical efficiency and transparency in the state administration. This effort of the mission will not only increase the efficiency of public servants but will also provide fast, smooth and effective services to the public.
