Patna: Tragedy struck at the Siddheshwar Temple in Makhadumpur's Banavar, Jehanabad district, when a stampede broke out, resulting in the deaths of seven people. Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has expressed deep condolences over the incident and ordered an ex-gratia payment of Rs 4 lakh each to the families of the deceased.


According to eyewitnesses, the stampede occurred due to a sudden rush of devotees, leading to chaos and confusion. The temple was packed with people who had gathered for a religious event.
