Social Welfare Minister distributed Battery Operated Tricycles under "Chhatra" scheme in Bakhtiyarpur
State Commits to Empowering Divyangs: 16,000 Tricycles Distributed Since 2022, Elderly Receive Spectacles Under CM's Schemes
Today, under the Chief Minister Divyangjan Empowerment "Chhatra" Scheme, battery operated tricycles were distributed by the hands of Hon'ble Minister, Social Welfare Department, Government of Bihar, Shri Madan Singh ji in the block premises Bakhtiyarpur. Battery operated tricycles were made available to 114 Divyangs in this camp.
In the program, Shri Madan Singh said that the Government of Bihar is committed to all the needs of the deprived and helpless sections of the society. He informed that from the financial year 2022-23 till now, battery operated tricycles have been made available to about 16,000 Divyangs, out of which 1,460 have been distributed only in Patna.
This program was organized by Shri Prabhakar Kumar Patel, Assistant Director, District Divyangjan Empowerment Cell, Patna. Other guests present at the programme were Mr. Anirudh Yadav, Hon'ble MLA Bakhtiyarpur, Mr. Tanay Sultania, Deputy Development Commissioner, Patna, Mr. Shubham Kumar, Sub-Divisional Officer, Barh, Mr. Girdhari Lal, Private Secretary, Hon'ble Minister, Social Welfare Department, Mr. Utkarsh Kumar, Private Secretary to Hon'ble Minister, Mr. Uday Kumar Jha, Assistant Director, District Child Protection Unit, Mrs. Sneha, Assistant Director, District Social Security Cell, Mr. Jayamala Devi, Hon'ble Chief, Bakhtiyarpur Block, Mr. Pawan Kumar, Chairman, Municipal Council, Bakhtiyarpur, Mrs. Anu Kumari, District Manager, Buniyad.
It is worth mentioning that battery operated tricycles are provided to persons with more than 60% disability for education and self-employment. The application process is online. In the same programme, spectacles were also provided to the elderly under the Mukhyamantri Ujjwal Yojana by the Hon'ble Minister. Also, acceptance letters were also provided to the beneficiaries approved in the sponsorship scheme.
So far 243 children have been added under this scheme. This scheme provides financial assistance for education, nutrition and medical treatment to children living in difficult circumstances and gives them the opportunity to live in their social and cultural environment, thus preventing their displacement.
