Punjab’s Hansali wins award for the Best Tourism Village of India 2024
Union Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat confers award to Director Tourism Punjab, Amrit Singh and Pavail Gill
Scripting another success story in the Farm Tourism Sector at the national level, the state of Punjab today bagged the award for Best Tourism Village of India 2024.
The award was received by the Director of Tourism and Cultural Affairs Punjab Mrs. Amrit Singh, village representative Mr. Pavail Singh Gill and Manager of Statistics and Projects Ms. Sheetal Behl from Union Minister of Tourism and Cultural Affairs Mr. Gajendra Singh Shekhawat and Secretary V. Vidyavathi during world tourism day celebrations organised by Union Ministry of Tourism and Culture at Vigyan Bhawan New Delhi today. The program was inaugurated by the Vice President of India Shri Jagdeep Dhankhar.
The Village Hansali of district Fatehgarh Sahib in Punjab has been selected as the best village of India 2024 among others in the agri-tourism category.
With the strenuous efforts of the owner of Hansali Organic Farm Mr. Sukhchain Singh Gill and his son Pavail Gill and the Support of the Department of Tourism & Cultural Affairs, GoP, Hansali has become an exemplary rural destination focused on agri-based tourism.
Director of Tourism and Cultural Affairs, Punjab Mrs. Amrit Singh said that this village is the hub for organic farming. Tourists can experience farm-to-plate meals, participate in farming activities, and enjoy village tours and rural traditional hospitality.
It is noteworthy that the Punjab’s Nawan Pind Sardaran of district Gurdaspur had also bagged the award of best Tourism Village of India in 2023.
The director of Tourism and Cultural Affairs, Punjab also shared that the department is also organising events at monuments and other tourist destinations across Punjab to celebrate World Tourism Day.
Mrs. Amrit Singh said that under the able guidance of Chief Minister of Punjab S. Bhagwant Singh Mann and Punjab Tourism and Cultural Affairs Minister Mr. Tarunpreet Singh Sond, the state of Punjab is heading towards its goal of becoming front runner in terms of tourism particularly in farm tourism in India.
