Punjab Horticulture Minister and Danish Ambassador explore wide-ranging agricultural partnerships

Punjab Horticulture Minister S. Chetan Singh Jouramajra, on the directions of Chief Minister S. Bhagwant Singh Mann, held a productive meeting with Mr. Freddy Svane, Ambassador of the Royal Danish Embassy in New Delhi.

During the high-level talks centered on strengthening mutual relations and exploring potential business collaborations between Punjab and Denmark, S. Chetan Singh Jouramajra and Ambassador Mr. Svane engaged in a comprehensive dialogue, exchanging insights on various sectors of mutual interest.

Both dignitaries stressed upon fostering bilateral ties and leveraging the strengths of their respective regions. The discussions were held on potential areas for cooperation, including sustainable agriculture and innovative horticultural practices, food processing, biogas development, groundwater management, efficient irrigation, water conservation techniques and dairy sector cooperation.

The Horticulture Minister, while highlighting Punjab's rich agricultural heritage and its ongoing efforts to modernize the horticulture sector, said that Chief Minister S. Bhagwant Singh Mann led government is taking all possible steps to prosper the state. "The Punjab government is committed to exploring international partnerships that can contribute to the state's agricultural growth and economic development," the Cabinet Minister categorically mentioned.

He said that the focus on biogas development, groundwater management and efficient irrigation will align well with both regions' commitments to sustainable development and environmental conservation.

Ambassador Mr. Svane shared Denmark's expertise in sustainable farming techniques, renewable energy solutions and water management. He expressed keen interest in potential partnerships across the discussed sectors.

S. Chetan Singh Jouramajra assured that in the coming days, he would arrange a meeting of Chief Minister S. Bhagwant Singh Mann and Mr. Freddy Svane to further strengthen the ties between Punjab and Denmark.

This meeting will be marked a significant step forward in enhancing Indo-Danish relations at the state level, potentially paving the way for future collaborations that could benefit both Punjab's agricultural and allied sectors and Danish businesses, he added.
